PC laptops definitely give you better hardware for your buck, but my experiences with Dell, Lenovo, and HP laptops have shown me that better hardware doesn't mean much when it's not perfectly harmonious with the OS running on it. My experience with OSX is limited, but I find things like iWork to be much better than Windows Office, battery life to be much longer than any PC laptop, and overall loading of programs to be much quicker. "I would only run Windows 7 for PC only games. Much cheaper, better/faster hardware, and it looks almost identical.

GAMING ON A MAC FORUMS INSTALL
TL DR - Is it not a hassle to play casual/indie style games on a Macbook running Windows 7 either through a virtual desktop of Boot said: " If you are just going to run Windows on it then whats the point of paying extra for the Mac? Get one of the new HP Envy's when they come out and install OSX on it. I was just wondering if people's experience with playing games on Windows on a Macbook has been a smooth one. So I was thinking about the possibility of either running a virtual desktop or doing Boot Camp for the few games that only run on Windows. Most of these games (well, all of the games I have mentioned so far) have an OSX version, but there are a few titles that don't - like Crayon Physics Deluxe. Zombies and indie games such as Machinarium and Osmos.

I'm talking about smaller "casual" games like Plants vs.
GAMING ON A MAC FORUMS FULL
Not titles like Left 4 Dead 2 or Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - I have a PC desktop and consoles for full retail games of that nature. My only worry is compatibility with games. The streamlined user interface for entertainment use coupled with the fact that I have a job where I do not need to be compatible with my company's PC infrastructure makes the MBP the best laptop for me to get right now. I've finally decided that I have enough cash to burn on a new Macbook Pro. M1 seems very promising even for gaming (check youtube reviews with demanding games like Fortnite, Tomb Raider etc)."Just get a PC for gaming." - Let's just get that sentiment out of the way. Will wait for few months to see if Fall Guys becomes officially available on Steam for Mac. Alternative would be to go for a gaming laptop but I believe that solution will cost me more than 1000 euro for a decent laptop with W10. The home office i use does not have the space for a gaming desktop. My issue, for considering the Mac Mini, is the small factor. So Fall Guys is not supported right now on Steam for Mac. Thank you for the comprehensive answer, much appreciated.
GAMING ON A MAC FORUMS HOW TO
According to their database Geometry Dash runs fine in CrossOver but Fall Guys has limited functionality.įor how to run Windows games in CrossOver or Parallels on Mac I recommend this channel: Your only option is to try CrossOver or Parallels. You can still test it because sometime those warnings are false. Steam warns for it not being able to run on Catalina or Big Sur. Geometry Dash seems also be an old game from 2014 so I don't think it has 64-bit support. Fall Guys is a Windows game as far as I can see on Steam so no it won't run.
